Multi-touch display

Version V1.62

Cynap has a built in multi-touch driver that detects a connected multi-touch screen. Multi-touch screens are usually connected using HDMI to enable transmission of both images and audio, and via USB for the touch commands. Certain screens only work with USB 2.0 interfaces properly. In these cases the screen should be plugged in either using the USB 2.0 port of Cynap, or alternatively using a third party USB 2.0 hub that is connected to a USB 3.0 ports.

Note

To input characters, open the virtual keyboard via the Control Center (needs to be enabled in the settings / General Settings).

Due to the wide range of different third-party suppliers, not all hardware options can be tested.

Some touch screens need to be connected and powered on before Cynap is connected to the mains.

For security reasons, Cynap is a closed system. This means that adjustment parameters of the touch panel cannot be stored in Cynap , also it is not possible to install additional third-party drivers (the available drivers are part of the firmware). Please ensure that the display will be supported by the latest Linux software version natively without the need for a proprietary driver.

On touch displays with built-in USB storage, the USB storage should be disabled to enable the use of external thumb drives, connected to Cynap directly.
