1. PURPOSE
VZDownload is a utility that eases firmware updates of WolfVision Visualizers and cameras.
It automatically detects the used COM port and the necessary port settings. A terminal program is not necessary.
Further more, the search function of the program allows to diagnose the COM ports and Visualizer connection.

2. INSTALLATION
   - Download the VZDownload.exe file from the WolfVision hompage
   - Uninstall all old versions of this software from your computer
   - Execute the downloaded file "VZDownload.exe"
   - Follow the installation instructions (Sometimes you may be prompted to restart your PC)

3. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
   - x86 PC with Win98, ME, NT, 2000, XP or Vista
   - At least one available RS232 COM port
   - Null-modem cable (crossed serial RS232 cable)

4. USING THE PROGRAM
To download a new firmware, perform the following steps:

a) Connect the Visualizer/Camera to the PC via the serial cable and power on the Visualizer/Camera.
b) Load a *.W19 file in the the "File" menu. Wrong files and formats are ignored.
   The status bar shows the filename and path information if valid.
c) Press the search button (or F5 key) to find out on which COM port the Visualizer/Camera is connected.
d) If the file format is correct and a Visualizer/Camera is found, the firmware can be downloaded.
   If not, the update is not possible.
e) Wait until the download is finished.

It is not possible to download a wrong software, e.g. vz8.w19 to a VZ-57.

To configure the COM ports and the necessary speed information, you can use the menu item "COM Port (RS232)" in the "Settings" menu.
By default COM1 and COM2 at speeds of 19200 and 115200 are selected.
