The first WolfVision Visualizer with LAN connection was released in 2003. Since then the LAN port became a central feature of all high end Visualizers from WolfVision. All new models of the Professional and Ceiling Visualizer series as well as the VZ-9 (the top model of the Portable series) are equipped with LAN port.
WolfVision has improved the features of the LAN connection in recent years. Most of these new features can be added to older units via Firmware Updates (see Firmware Update page). |

Built-in Web Server
The Visualizer has a built-in web server that can be accessed through a standard Internet browser by just typing the IP-address of the Visualizer into an internet browser.
No additional software is required for the features of the web server (image downloads, controlling etc.) |
 |
|
Online Remote Control over LAN
The Visualizer can be switched on and off and completely controlled over a LAN connection. The online remote control opens in a separate window and can be placed anywhere on your screen. |

Image Downloads Optimized for Quality
Use the Visualizer's web server to download still images to a PC. A live image is shown in a small window and high resolution images can be downloaded by clicking on the "capture" icon.
The Visualizer's image download system has been improved in order to optimize the speed, while preserving the full resolution of the image. It now takes 4 seconds to transfer an uncompressed image over an internal network.
Of course image downloads are much faster when using the Visualizer's USB connection, but downloads via LAN are a good alternative for sending images over great distances (or over the Internet).
For safety reasons image downloads and the online remote control can be disabled in the Visualizer menu.

Status Information Page
The Status Information Page displays all basic settings of the Visualizer (see screenshot to the left side, click on the image to enlarge.)
DHCP Client*
The IP address of the Visualizer can be entered manually (IP, Subnet, Gateway) or automatically assigned by a DHCP-server in your network.
E-Mail Notification*
Use the e-mail notification feature to send messages to up to 3 administrators.
Available notifications are:
-
"Alarm Mail" (informs about errors like defective lamps etc.)
- "Startup Mail" (sent out every time the Visualizer is switched on)
- "Weekly Status Report" |

Ethernet Software
WolfVision's Ethernet software is a great tool for managing multiple Visualizers on a network from one PC. When the software is started, the network is scanned and a list of available WolfVision Visualizers (including units which are switched off) appears on your screen. Computers with multiple network adapters are also supported.
Firmware Updates
A larger number of Visualizers can be updated quickly and easily using the WolfVision Ethernet software. |

Autosave Function
Autosave is a new function of WolfVision's Ethernet software. Images can be saved with just one click. Settings like filename, file format and compression can be pre-defined in the preferences dialog.
There is also a Timer which can be set to save an image every ... seconds. This can be used to automatically log a presentation made with a Visualizer or to make some fast scans without touching any key at all. |
Please note that Firmware v2.00a from March 2006 or a later version is required in order to use all features shown on this page.
* Due to a hardware change in April 2006, functions marked with * are not available for older units of the Visualizer VZ-9 (serial numbers lower then 95501). |
