Update for sRGB Color Precision |
The update for sRGB Color Precision was released on March 17, 2006 with Firmware V2.00a. WolfVision Visualizers have always been famous for their perfect colors. In early 2006 WolfVision R&D managed the "impossible" to improve the color precision even more by applying scientific color algorithms to WolfVision's highly sophisticated electronic hardware. The following comparisons show the difference before and after applying the sRGB Color Precision Update. These images were taken using WolfVision's USB-Software. You can click to enlarge them and open all images in separate windows, for comparisons on your screen. Please note that even the large images will not show the full resolution of the WolfVision Visualizers, due to JPEG-compression, which is necessary for website images. What is sRGB? sRGB stands for "Standard RGB (Red, Green, Blue)". It is a standard color space which was created in 1996 by Microsoft and HP. The goal of sRGB is to unify the different color space definitions of monitors, projectors, scanners, printers, web browsers and cameras, in order to make the colors look the same on all units. To simplify it, sRGB can be called "a standard for color precision ". 100% Color Precision with 3-CCD The "Color Precision Update" improves the color accuracy of both 1-CCD and 3-CCD Visualizer models. However the distance between the two camera technologies remains the same. The colors of Visualizers with 1-CCD camera are very good and they now display the sRGB color space correctly. But 100% color precision can only be achieved with a Visualizer with 3-CCD camera (see comparison pictures above). |
