WolfVision Newsletter16x Optical Zoom for Visualizer VZ-57plusWolfVision's high end 3-CCD Visualizer VZ-57plus receives a "hardware update": The zoom range is now extended to a 16x optical zoom. The largest pickup area on the working surface is still 360 x 270mm (14.4" x 10.8") but the Visualizer can now zoom in more - up to 22.5 x 17 mm (0.9" x 0.7"). A digital 4x zoom expands the total zoom range to 64x and allows for enlarging even smaller objects down to 5.6 x 4.2mm (0.22" x 0.17"). All of WolfVision's current Professional Desktop and Ceiling Visualizers use this highly professional 16x zoom lens. Outstanding features of this lens are extremely high depth of focus and synchronization with the light lens (Synchronized Lightfield for easy positioning of objects). A quality characteristic of all WolfVision lenses is the perfect edge focus. Widescreen Firmware Update for Visualizer VZ-8light²The current boom of HD has made widescreen image formats very popular and more and more widescreen monitors and projectors appear on the market. WolfVision noticed this trend early and added widescreen support to most Visualizers via Firmware Updates back in June 2005. Apart from our Visualizers with PAL/NTSC-video camera, the Visualizer VZ-8light² has been the only WolfVision unit without widescreen support. A new Firmware Update now allows the Visualizer VZ-8light² to output its original XGA image in the most popular widescreen formats 720p HD (16:9) and WXGA (16:10). Unlike the Visualizer VZ-9plus, the VZ-8light² has to "up-scale" the image. Nevertheless the quality is very good. Live-Update Function of Connectivity Software
A very comfortable way to update the WolfVision Connectivity Software is to use the "Live-update" function. The software checks on WolfVision's homepage if a new version is available, downloads a small update file and updates the program quickly and easily. Only the checking for updates has to be done manually (because we do not want to trouble our customers with a program constantly checking for updates and eating up a lot of system resources). The current version of the WolfVision Connectivity Software is 1.4. Especially when working with version 1.2 an update is highly recommended, because with this version the TWAIN driver did not work well on some hardware platforms. New FAQ DatabaseAnother very useful feature was added to the WolfVision Homepage: The new FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) database offers search functions for keywords and types of equipment. All contents of the database have been updated and will be expanded further on a regular basis. If you know a "Frequently Asked Question" which is missing in this database, please send a mail to:
