NEW at Infocomm USA:
SXGA-/HD Progressive Scan Camera EYE-12

WolfVision launches a great new product at this years Infocomm USA exhibition:

The EYE-12 is the third Progressive Scan Live Image Camera released by WolfVision (the leading manufacturer of Visualizers / document cameras).

The EYE-12 can be seen as the "big brother" of the EYE-10 model, which was released in May 2006. It comes with the same "eye-shaped" and "eye-catching" outside design.

Compared to the EYE-10 (which remains in WolfVision's product line as the "basic model") the EYE-12 comes with a number of additional features, such as USB-, LAN- and DVI ports and Power over Ethernet (PoE).

The heart of the EYE-12 is a sensational CCD camera with 1280 x 960 pixels at 30 frames per second.

This is native SXGA- resolution with an aspect ratio of 4:3. The camera also outputs native 720p HD (High Definition) with 1280 x 720 pixels in a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9.

Using a display device with 1280 x 960 (or more) pixels, a resolution of 820 lines is visible. But even when the image is downscaled by the EYE-12 to XGA and output on an XGA display device, the resolution is still around 740 lines.

WolfVision's EYE-series cameras can be used for a number of different applications:

  • Use as a lower priced alternative to a Ceiling Visualizer
  • High Resolution live image transmissions from room to room (room camera)
  • Videoconferencing (audience camera and document camera / Visualizer)
  • High resolution surveillance
  • Various medical applications (Telemedicine, etc.)

In other words - WolfVision's Progressive Scan Cameras can be used in applications where live image presentation is required but the resolution of a PAL/NTSC video camera is not good enough!

The EYE-12 will be available in August 2007

WolfVision also offers the EYE-series cameras as camera modules (without housing and accessories).

The camera module version of the EYE-12 is called SCB-12 and the camera module of the EYE-10 is called SCB-1.
