In order to better serve our customers, a Regular Customer Discount is offered. Receiving the discount is easy: Simply pay full price for the first visit and the discount will be applied for each additional use (providing the last visit was not more than 3 months earlier).

If you rent both conference rooms (for videoconferences between Vienna and Goetzis), you will receive a 50% rebate on the second room (this applies to the standard price since the regular customer discount already gives a 50% discount for both rooms).

* The number of ISDN lines used influences the sound and image quality, as well as the price:

1 ISDN Line (=2 Telephone lines, 128kB): useable, but not particularly good quality
2 ISDN Lines (=4 Telephone lines, 256kB): good quality, the most frequently used standard
3 ISDN-Lines (=6 Telephone lines, 384kB): very good quality

We recommend the use of 2 ISDN lines. The quality difference between one and two lines is very significant. A third ISDN line only becomes necessary when large amounts of high-resolution graphics or computer images must be transmitted.

An ISDN line consists of 2 telephone lines (B-channels each with 64KB), therefore the Telephone costs must be multiplied by 2. Calculation example: The Telephone costs for a 50 minute Videoconference with 2 ISDN lines to Germany would be 50 (Min) x € 0,38 x 4 (Lines) = 76 Euro

Videoconferencing using Telephone, Internet or Satellite?

A common question asked is whether videoconferencing over the internet would be better because connection speeds of 512kB and more are not uncommon?

Answer: If an Internet-Provider claims to offer 512kB, this is only applies to downloaded data. Upload speeds are usually considerably slower because for internet surfing mainly downloading-bandwidth is used. Even if a provider offers an upload rate of 256kB, it does not mean that this bandwidth is always available. The speeds claimed by the internet providers are maximum values that are only available when traffic on the lines used is low enough to allow these rates. Normally, bandwidth is shared with other users on the same system and it a matter of luck if you do get a connection at maximum speed. It is normal to experience extreme quality variations when using the internet for videoconferencing as a result of inconsistent bandwidth.

When videoconferencing using telephone, the chosen bandwidth is almost always guaranteed in both directions (upload and download). Therefore, even in times of increasing Internet bandwidth, telephone is still preferred due to greater reliability. Our Tandberg systems also have the capability of using internet lines for data transmission. This way other participants who only have an internet videoconferencing system can also interface with our Tandberg equipment.

Nevertheless, now and then there can be times of reduced bandwidth when videoconferencing using telephone lines. Although it is very rare, it can occur. If a high value is placed on excellent visual and sound quality during the entire videoconference, the safest option (that is close to 100% secure) is transmission via satellite (Astra). The prices for Satellite transmission are not as high as they used to be. They are approximately 3-times the amount of videoconferencing using telephone lines (Hardware rental, Satellite rental and Personnel costs).
